I am 53 years old, married, with 3 grown sons. We live in NW Missouri. I have lived in Missouri since 1992. I am originally from Delaware and I left there when I was 20. I am an East Coast, beach loving gal at heart. When I was growing up, I was not much of a meat eater, even though I grew up in the standard 60’s & 70’s US home of meat & potatoes for every dinner. It just seemed wrong to eat animals. My favorite food back then was spinach!
Over the years, I adopted the SAD and ate poorly. Lots of soda & junk food. Unfortunately for my sons, I did not feed them proper nutrition. Veggies were rarely seen in my household.
In my younger years, I never had an issue with weight gain. It wasn’t until my 30’s that I noticed that I was gaining weight - about 10 lbs per year. When I got close to 200 lbs, I knew I had to do something, especially since I am only 5’2”. I tried various diets, such as, low calorie, no-fat, Atkins, & Weight Watchers, to name just a few. Earlier this year, I tried the Keto diet for 2-3 months. I had some success with losing weight & feeling good, but it was not sustainable. I gave up on that diet in June. August is my birth month, so I decided that all restrictions were off & I would eat whatever I wanted, which included A Lot of cake & icing. Along came a 30-day Whole Foods Plant Based challenge that crossed my path in mid-August. It was exactly what my body needed. It started on Sept 1st. I became a vegetarian on 9/1/2019 for health reasons. The universe opened up & ethical vegan resources started crossing my path. Books & videos were read & watched. Over the last month, I have been transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. Then came along Freelee across my Yt feed! Intrigued, I watched a couple of her videos. I have purchased her ebook, Go Fruit Yourself and have almost finished it. Today, I am starting the Rawtill4 lifestyle. 😁

My favorite books are gothic mysteries, along the lines of Sherlock Holmes & The Historian. I enjoy reading, crocheting, planning, and being creative in my planners. I also enjoy long walks, kayaking, swimming, cycling, & yoga.
