Hi, my name is Amy and I am a mother, wife, professional and newly changed by discovering a new way of living my life through the HCRV lifestyle. I have been loosely practicing a raw diet through daily juicing, fasting, and eating a primarily plant based diet with some fish for the last two years. When I changed from a S.A.D. to an 80% raw diet I noticed an increase in energy, mental clarity and weight loss. That being said, I now know I was missing a LARGE part of the health and wellness picture. Approximately three years ago I was a smoker who was hooked on stimulant medication for a misdiagnosis of adult ADD and I had a diet where I primarily consumed animal based and processed foods that occasionally included fruits and vegetables. I began to feel worse and worse and my body was producing symptoms of my lifestyle including a gall bladder disorder. I quit smoking, quit all medications, cleaned up my diet, regrettably had my gall bladder removed and began running and working out. Fast-forward to now, although I have improved greatly over the last year I have felt a reduction in my energy and mental fogginess. I began to research various plant based diets. I watched several documentaries that provided detail on the inhumane treatment of animals and the damage animal based foods do to our bodies. So in December I made a change. I read Dr. Graham’s 811 book and found this website, among others that have been a blessing in this journey of my life.
I’m now a little over one month into this new way of eating and living and I must say it’s been amazing!! I feel so much energy, clarity and stability of my moods. Further, I can now sit down for a meal and not "disconnect" myself from what I am eating.
I am looking to make connections within a HCRV community in order to continue to progress and learn. My husband and children are still meat eaters, this is very difficult for me because I love to prepare food for my family. I am slowly and graciously introducing them into a vegan diet and I pray that with time they will join me.

To get started. Be sure to note food, calorie, water, sleep recommendations and log (can use www.cronometer.com or similar) your food/drink intake, at least for the first few months to get used to what you need to eat to stay on target calorie wise as well as macronutrient (carbs:fat:protein) wise.
