HALIFAX FOLKS! (or anyone in that area) Wanna meet up? :)

Started May 25, 2013 0 Replies

I had plans to stay with a friend in Hali for a week or so on my way from NB to NL, but for various reasons these plans appear to be falling through. Now, my options are either to stay in Sackville,…Continue

Eating disorder treatment? ... I just don't know what to do anymore.

Started this discussion. Last reply by RawGreenAmber Aug 18, 2013. 37 Replies

I feel so angry (not normal for me at all) and helpless and lost. I have been fighting bulimia for about 2 years, 811 raw veganism being the thing that has helped BY FAR the most, but it hasn't cured…Continue

I have an awful problem with eating lots of fruit all day (bananas are my staple), feeling plenty full until dinnertime, and then once I've had my big salad ... soon I'm hungry again. Here is a…Continue

I've been vegan for 10+ years, and more or less healthy for most of it. However, I had anorexia for a few years, was quite thin for several more, and recently have been struggling with bulimia and eating the worst food. In desperation I've tried numerous forms of counselling, medication, intuitive eating, fasting ... research on fasting somehow led me to 80/10/10, and it makes so much sense to me. It just clicks. As I become increasingly dedicated to this lifestyle I honestly can't describe the improvements so far in my energy and mood (for a consistently depressed person, that's really saying something!). I just feel like beaming at everyone, all the time. ~love~

Date-nog answer (it's on the picture comments too!) - Hi RawGreenAmber! Sorry for late reply (darn I oughta see these more often), ok, so for my date-nog I use a mix of medjool and deglet noor dates, I add nutmeg and cinnamon. It's really good if you just make it like that. Sometimes I add to the mix a bit of either ground flax seeds or raw cashews to make it more "egg-noggy" like! :) You can also add a bit of pepper or ginger if you like! Because it is a special time of year I like to make it extra special (as opposed to the regular dateorade). :) Have fun with it! Much love, CB.

I just wanted to let you know that day 1 on the 30 day challenge was a success. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to eat raw and not crave cooked food. Well I don't like cooking anyway so I think that helped. The only problem/challenges I will have to face on this journey is the fact that my boyfriend who I live with eats meat which is fine because I never really enjoyed the taste of meat anyway but the fact that I still cook for him. I did still have cravings for cheese but I managed to set that aside. How's you challenge days going ?

I will start 30 days challenge tomorrow.

I support you, we are strong, more than we think.

I'm going overt-free

Posted on May 5, 2013 at 8:36am 2 Comments

I am making progress with 811, but I still suffer pretty often from skin issues, anxiety, sometimes trouble sleeping, overeating on cooked or high-fat/salty foods, and undereating fruit. I've decided to try cutting out overt fats for a while, since that seems to be really good for a lot of people here in terms of aiding detox from the aforementioned addictive foods. I will try to remember to post my progress here! At the moment I am living with a lot of other people, none of them raw or even…

An amazing salad I want to remember!

Posted on January 26, 2013 at 8:08am 4 Comments

.5 head romaine lettuce

1-2 c. baby spinach

1 med. zucchini, spiralized

2 med. tomatoes

about 10 strawberries

5 leaves basil

2-3 sm. stalks celery

Pulse blend 1.5 of the tomatoes, 5 or 6 of the strawberries (you can leave the greens on), the basil, and the celery. You can add a little water to help your blender. Chop the remaining strawberries and tomato, add them to the bowl with your romaine, spinach and zucchini. Pour the dressing over…

November, baby.

Posted on October 29, 2012 at 9:30am 2 Comments

*wow.* I published this idly thinking that October was just coming up, when I obviously meant November. Just goes to show how much brain fuzz I need to clear up.

November's the month. I'm not "determined" about this. Determination is something I've done, something that's failed me, and something that I'm willing to leave behind (as far as its self-driving, slogging, ungrateful aspects go,…
