I've always had an interest in eating healthy, which started for aesthetic purposes. Over the years, through a lot of trial and error and a lot of my own research, I have learned what healthy eating truly means. When I learned about 80/10/10, I felt overjoyed - this diet not only made sense to me, but I was so excited that I could eat the way I wanted to - as many mangos and bananas as my little heart desires! I work in the fitness industry, and I watch my peers count calories, calculate macros, weigh food...I've tried it, and having to perform math equations every time you eat for optimal health just never made sense to me. It's not sustainable, and is incredibly restrictive. It never worked for me. I am a recovered heroin addict who just graduated from college with a degree in kinesiology. I am so inspired and motivated by this lifestyle of abundance, vitality, compassion, and health. I do not know many people who eat the way I do, and that can be very discouraging. I have a support group for staying clean and sober, and I would love to meet more like-minded people who understand and support my clean eating, rather than treating me like some kind of freak.
My other hobbies include writing, yoga (especially bikram), singing, going to the beach when I can, driving with the music playing loudly, and reading. I like rock music - especially classic and alternative. Led Zeppelin and Radiohead are in my top 5 favorites!

Just motivation to stick with it and to trust the process. I'm pretty new to this diet, and I believe that there may be some metabolic damage due to past abuse with drugs and then restricting my diet and then bingeing.
