My name is Allie, and I am 17 years old. I have been a fruit lover my whole life, I remember eating my first papaya fresh off the tree in the Cook Islands when I was three years old and ever since then I have been hooked on fruit. One year and one month ago I became a vegan, after being a vegetarian for around 4 years, in the hope of feeling better, sleeping more, and just being healthier in general. It helped for a bit, but then I started to feel stuck again and then I came across the idea of the raw lifestyle. At first I was unsure if I could do it and if I could handle all the pressure from everyone, and thing, around me telling me that it wasn't the proper way to eat. Then finally on March 1st, 2013, exactly one year after becoming vegan, I decided that I cared about myself and my health more than anything else and anyone else's opinion. As of now I am still in the transition stage, but I have slowly started adding more and more raw food into my diet and am now up to the point where I usually only eat 1 or 2 cooked meals a week and I can already feel the benefits. I can't wait to continue my journey share my experience with others. Health is my passion and I want that to show in my appearance. I currently workout 5-6 days a week doing a mix of cardio, strength training, balance/core strength, and yoga. I am slowly becoming more confident and in tune with my body every day and I love it. I could never go back to eating animal products and that feeling of heaviness and disgust. This is the life for me and I look forward to sharing it and surrounding myself with supportive people who have the same beliefs.

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
I love pretty much any books that are light and easy to read, and I also love research books on nutrition (especially the raw lifestyle), health, and the human body. I'm not a huge movie person, but I do enjoy documentaries on nutrition and animals and light-hearted fun movies that tell a good story like Eat, Pray, Love. I watch one TV show only, on my computer, and it is Criminal Minds. I don't think I really have a favourite author. Some things I love to do are yoga, exercise in general, garden, eat :), and ride my bike or walk in the park in the summer.

I am looking for the support and ideas of people who think and live like me. Being originally from a farm town, and I mean cow and pig farms, means there aren't many people around me that understand how I live or my choices.
