Hello! My name is Alli! I am starting college this fall and am VERY excited about being able to have complete control over my diet. I am blessed that my college has an amazing cafeteria with lots of vegan options and an abundance of raw fruits and vegetables! So anyway, here's my story:
Up until this year I have been very unhealthy. For no real reason I completely changed my diet in January from poptarts, ramen, steak, and soda to mostly fruits and vegetables. I didn't have some huge revelation or anything, it just sort of happened. I literally ate no fruits and barely any vegetables before this year. I dropped 30 lbs in two weeks (though you couldn't see it). I continued adding more and more fruits and veggies into my diet and found that I had so much more energy!
I have been eating primarily vegetarian since January and have been slowly weaning myself off all meat and dairy foods. But I feel like that isn't enough. I have done an extensive amount of research on different diets and everything about the 80-10-10 diet just makes sense to me. Eating high amounts of fats and protein just doesn't feel right to me even when it is vegan. I feel sick like before when I eat too many fats. So since June I have been in the process of switching to a vegan 80-10-10 diet. After I get the ratios right I am going to transition to all raw foods.
I found this community through youtube while looking for vegan recipes. I have been on this site pretty much everyday for the past month and finally am getting around to joining in order to have a community of like minded people that I can participate in and gain support from. I want to be able to help others on this site in any way I can and also have access to help when I need it as well. The more I read about this diet and the more I change what I eat the better I feel and the more excited I get!

I need support because I no absolutely no HCRVegans in real life and only two vegetarians for that matter. I frankly just need some like minded people to talk to. I'm really interested in new recipes too! For me cooking has always been one of my favorite forms of art, so transitioning to this new diet is exciting because I'm learning a new medium. I really look forward to joining this site! :D
