30BaD is an Animal Sanctuary and A No Kill Zone!
30BaD does not tolerate promotion of the human supremacy syndrome. This means we oppose the harassment and exploitation of sentient beings for the 'potential benefits' of some humans. We find it unacceptable to suggest that humans use animals for experimentation, entertainment, consumption, clothing, economic benefit, and for food for pets etc. Forum guidelines

Should we have pets at all?
Perhaps the solution lies not in what to feed pets, but going to the source of the problem, and asking should pets be kept at all?
For in exploiting and imprisoning animals for our amusement, we are promoting the pet industry and the astrocities that occur as a result, and the cruelty based pet food industries that feed them.
However, in contrast to this, the pet conundrum should not be confused with at will animal companionship which was portrayed in the movie Dances With Wolves. Here, the friendship between wolf and man was voluntary from both sides. The wolf was not imprisoned and came of its own free will, and the man responded of his own free will. These kind of friendships are voluntary and mutual, and at will, meaning either party is free to terminate the relationship at any time. Neither person nor animal is exploited in the process.

Taurine for Cats
A topically frequently brought up and discussed here is that cats cannot produce their own taurine and must get it from their diet. A common misconception is that cats must eat animal products in order to fulfill their taurine requirements.
Taurine is named after the Latin taurus which means bull or ox. Taurine it was first isolated from ox bile in 1827 hence the name.
However in most pet foods, animal and human supplements, and energy drinks today, taurine is actually synthetically made is is vegan friendly.

Here are some cute videos of some animal companions enjoying watermelon. Although we do not like the
idea of caging animals in zoos, the big cat video is a great educational tool showing that cats can eat raw vegan and or vegan foods and some cats actually seem to enjoy it!
Thanks for your help in making this a cruelty free world for our animal companions and neighbors.
