Where I live in CR, (SW near Playa Dominical and San Isidro), land starts at $10,000 per acre and increases in value with the addition of features, such as views (ocean, waterfalls), road access, close to electric or water hook up, birthsprings on the land, # of flat building sites, etc.
La Joya Del Sol would like to start an Raw Food ecovillage.
@ Josephine
how long is the Durian season in Dominical usually (i've heard of the farm, too, but do not know where it is exactly)? Is this the guy who sells at the market of San Isidro? How much does he want per kilo?
The botanical garden in Puerto Viejo told us their trees are fruiting from August till November sometimes they have an additional short season, once in 17 years there were no fruits.
We will return to CR in late August with friends of us. Maybe we wanna have a stopover at your place.
Bye
@Konstantin,
We have Durian trees, but they are still too young to produce. We live in the SW region of Costa Rica, near Playa Dominical. I know of one farm in this area with producing Durian trees, and of another in San Jose. I've never heard about how the S Carib side has better results than other areas with asian fruits. I fully expect our trees to start producing within a few years.
Hi
@Josephine
do you have Durian trees at your property? If yes: have you had fruits yet? How long is the season?
We probably gonna buy a property at the southern caribbean site of CR because of the better results in asian fruits such as Durian, Marang, Jackfruit...
We know someone from Rio Claro who got fruiting Durian trees. He told us the results aren't too good. Where are you exactly? Do you have good results (good polination etc...)?
We own a Raw Food-Vegan-Vegetarian Lodge and Natural Healing Center near Playa Dominical and San Isidro - called Farm of Life, Finca de Vida. www.farmoflifecr.com. Our organic farm has hundreds of fruit trees planted. We are high raw ourselves. Our guests are all raw food, health conscious, or health-seeking. You can find us - Brian and Jody Calvi- shopping at the San Isidro Farmers Market on Thurs mornings,
Im currently in Cobano right now, In febuary, possibly sooner I will need a new place to stay. If anyone is looking for a roommate to rent a place with them let me know, I don't mind travelling a bit as long as the place is in CR. My flight here was 1 way, if i can find a good job i might plan to stay a while.
Hey Everyone, I will be in CR in April and would love to meet up with anyone else that is out there.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for small farms that sell good exotic produce?????
what up guys. i am typing from uvita right now staying in puntarenas. anyone want to meet up at the san isidro market at the gringo section
