@Mike, see my experience with ripening bananas in a plastic bag here: http://www.30bananasaday.com/profiles/blogs/my-experience-ripening-...

tl;dr version: not a good experience.

@Mike- Bonefedes has organic bananas (plus conventional exotics) with no prior order needed (they can be kinda shady over there tho).  The BMT has another banana dealer inside (past the truckers little restaurant) but not so much organics over there but I would still ask.  FYI the only place you have to order ahead is Strock.  Only because John S. has it shipped up from NYC.

That's what we do.  We get 8103 and 8105 then split them up.

Great news Mike! I always put an * next to 8105 reminding him NO green bananas! You can refuse them too. Just go over to Bonefedes or the Boston Market Terminal to get riper ones. Tricks to ripening include storing them in a sealed area (oven, dishwasher, microwave) so the ethylene gas doesn't get out.

We should meet up someday at the market. Hope to see you at this month's pot luck!

Reminder to RSVP if you are coming to the potluck on Sunday.  I will send out my address on Friday.  So excited!!  There are going to be a lot of people that are coming that aren't on 30B too btw.  Feel free to invite anyone interested in the lifestyle.
