I'm right next to Chandler :)
OMG I am in Glendale too!!! I would love to get to know you!
I'm in the Mesa area right now, but go up to Glendale on the weekends sometimes!
Oh very nice! I'm pretty new to the vegan lifestyle so if you know any decent places to eat I wouldn't mind going to check some out. =)
Restaurants choices largely depend upon your eating preferences. Are you looking for as low salt/fat as possible or are you not as particular?
If the former, then your best bets are salad/buffet bars such as Sweet Tomatoes, Ruby Tuesdays and Asian buffets, all of which have branches in/near Glendale.
If the latter, then you can add to the list Indian restaurants, though you must closely quiz the manager as to exactly what you require, including what's in the naan bread.
If you'd like some specific names, I can provide those as well.
Trying to do as low fat/salt as possible, and those actually sound perfect places since I live really close to sweet tomatoes and an array of Asian restaurants.
When it comes to the Asian places, I'd be very cautious of the prepared hot dishes, as at the least they'll be loaded with oil. Dairy isn't a common ingredient, but you never know when fish sauce might be snuck in. But you can't go wrong with unlimited plain rice and the few fresh veggies always on hand. some buffets even have a nice little fruit selection.
Hey, great living location then. No better restaurant bargain than the Sweet.
Funny story--at one of the branches here, a lady I'd never met before started making much over my loaded tray of salad and taters. She actually invited me over to her table so her husband could witness the bounty as well. A nearby waitress with whom I'm a friendly acquaintance leaned in and said, "And he will DESTROY that tray!" :D
Yeah after doing some research I found a few places I can go. I find it fun actually to go to a place I commonly would have gone to as a meat eater, and finding something there that I can do on a Raw Till 4 diet. I get excited now when I can veganise a burrito, or pizza, or even a burger!
haha its funny you say that, because the other night I ordered two gluten free vegan pizzas and my boyfriend looks at me and says "no way you can eat all that" and I'm just like, you have no idea. lol I love still being able to enjoy the old foods I used to like without any of the guilt. =)
