I have a 11 pound, 9 month old, chihuahua/dachshund mix. I have had her for 2 months and switched her to vegan immediately. I first tried Natures Balance vegan kibble, I thought it'd be an easier switch, but she would not eat it. So I have been feeding her cooked vegan- legumes, root starches, non-gluten grains, vegetables, some oils, flax seed, some fruits for snacks...
Her health is good, my only concern is she is always looking for stuff to eat outside. Poop, dead mice, snail shells... though she pretty much did this from the get go so it could be completely unrelated.
What do you think, should one add a supplement to a vegan dogs diet? Opinions and evidence please. Thank you!
supplementation is a good idea regardless of whether the dog's diet is vegan and has been in wide use for decades. you can look through the info on this site for recommended vegan brands ... you'll see they are all supplemented.
