Hello there San Franciscans! My name is Marvin and I'm an artist/vegan coming from Chicago but currently located here in Hawaii for six months already. I have been fantasizing about moving to San Francisco for quite some time now. Started last year when I stopped over for one night and totally fell in love with the city! I've been researching a lot about the city and it really calls to my very core.

I am looking for friends and connections right now. And some info on where a great location would be to move to. I've been attracted to GG Park area and Haight-Ashbury!

add me up lets connect! :)

Move in time frame is around December - January

@Makisig I think it's great you're trying to coordinate a fruit run with other like-minded folks, but you might also consider using Instacart or Google Shopping Express for convenience (as a backup plan). See here: http://www.30bananasaday.com/group/sfbaylfrv/forum/topics/instacart

I don't have a car and have been struggling to haul my produce around - would anyone like to team up and go together to a produce distributor or Berkeley Bowl? I live in Emeryville/Oakland right off the 580 and would be happy to give you gas money for your trouble. It'd be great to meet other fruity friends too - my partner and I are the only ones I know who eat like this, and we definitely want to go to a fruitluck soon! :)

Berkeley Bowl will facilitate buying bulk.  Find what you want in the store and then ask the produce team if they are selling that particular item by the box/flat.  They will write an order of what you want and deliver it to the checkout stand once you make payment.  When in the area, I usually stop by 1199 E. 12th St. in Oakland.  There's two oriental markets right beside each other that have an alright selection of fruits including items like jackfruit & durian.  It's a good spot to get manila mangos or pineapples and such too.
