30 Bananas a Day!

I just found out my midwife will likely want me to get the whooping cough vaccine during my pregnancy. I do not at all like the idea of vaccines and have heard some bad stuff about them. At the same time though, I in no way would ever want to endanger my baby by not protecting her against those kinds of viruses.

Could Ya'll let me know what your stance is, your experience with vaccinating or not vaccinating your children, and/or some credible reading on the topic? I am honestly torn and not sure what is truly the best and safest for the little one, especially in her early childhood.

There are no comprehensive reliable studies on vaccines during pregnancy. There is a ton of money involved in vaccines though. Tons. Loads. I've researched vaccines for two decades, and I'm a mother of a toddler and a 7mo baby. I would never vaccinate my kids, and I've researched enough to convince myself that they are sold to the blind masses for zero good reasons. It's all about fear, panic, exploiting people via pharmaceuticals. Look into Dr Suzanne Humphries. Or how pertussis had mutated, is a bacterial vaccine (which makes no sense), how people immunized still get pertussis and it's everywhere. Look into vitamin C protocol if you are worried. I'll add some links.
Did I mention I love your profile pic? ;) Also, if your baby is breast fed, maternal antibodies are helping baby. Not 200x the legal limit of aluminum, a vaccine adjuvant.
Thanks so much, Lolita. This is exactly the answer is was hoping for! I agree about it being all about money and fear and whatnot. So glad to know that's not just my perception of it. And yes, I plan on breastfeeding. Thanks again, this info is so helpful!
Thanks for this information, I will certainly consider it! Though I don't think I can watch a child die of whooping cough at our local hospital. I live in a very small town so I doubt there is any such case here currently and if there were I would not likely be allowed in the room to observe. Thanks for the suggestion anyway! Also, if the other parents at the playground had given their children the vaccine, shouldn't MY child be the one in danger?
In that case, I am genuinely curious... How do you respond to the claims that 80-90% of whooping cough cases have occurred in vaccinated people?
Lolita's link about herd vaccination lists very many scientific studies done. Here's one I found particularly interesting,

28. Witt M et al. 2012. Unexpectedly Limited Durability of Immunity Following Acellular Pertussis Vaccination in Pre-Adolescents in a North American Outbreak. Clin Infect Dis. Clin Infect Dis. 2012 Jun;54(12):1730-5. PMID:22423127
No I'm not, I'll check that out. Thanks!!
Okay, now Lolita's other link from food renegade comes in handy. Read that and see how it is carried out in the first link of your last post....

I don't know who to believe!!!! Haha there's just too much conflicting information it's making my head spin. It seems like there is a decent counter argument for every piece of information on either side =/
I am not so convinced by this article because 1) it was pneumonia that was stated as the actual cause of death and 2) the baby's entire family had been vaccinated, including the mother. Shouldn't that have passed along the needed antibodies to protect the baby until it was old enough to get its own shots?
Hey honey, I agree with Lolita. Pertussis vaccine is no guarantee against pertussis. 80 - 90% of cases are in fully vaccinated people. I have a 2 month old baby and I decided against the vaccine. It is a really contagious infection though and apparently some adults have mild symptoms so I'm super cautious of anyone with a cold and I don't pass my baby around for cuddles. I read as much as I could on both sides, spoke to a few doctors and a few nurses and while I agree some vaccines work, it doesn't seem like this one does so I personally don't see the point. I also refused the hep b shot at birth as I know my baby isn't at risk of this disease. Only you can decide what's right for your baby and your situation.
