I just realized, after buying 40-pound case after 40-pound case of bananas, that I'm so not into them. I've been super fatigued, acne-ridden, and just not having fun on HCRV. I have been eating melon and mango all day and already feel so much better.
Why can't or don't you eat bananas? I'm curious to see if anyone else just doesn't feel GOOD eating them.
How much water do you drink a day Lori? Can you post a picture of the bananas you are eating?
Bananas are not the cause of your fatigue, and acne it's likely to be what they are mixing with in your colon or the fact that you are detoxing. How long have you been on this lifestyle?
REmember it's never the fruits fault but usually the environment they are going into.
I grow 20-30 different varieties of organic bananas on my farm in Costa Rica. When I was living there, I enjoyed the quality so much I could eat 300 per week easily. I would never harvest the bananas until they started turning yellow or the birds started eating them. My favorite way to eat them would be on an empty stomach after yoga, working out, bathing and meditation at around midday by piling all the ripest bananas still in their skins, but keeping each variety in their own separate pile in a banana shrine. That way, if I got bored of one variety, I could try another one. I ate them in a way so that I was fully masticating each banana, but also in a way so that this masticating would be nearly completely continuous until I was stuffed. The only thing that would stop this chewing was when someone started talking to me and I had to respond. Most of the time my response would be something like, "these are so good, do you want one?"
Well, since I have been back in Washington, the bananas here are just not the same to me. Does anyone remember those "runts" candies that come from those nickel vending machines? If you do, you probably remember the banana flavored ones. The bananas in the store here are no different to me. Unless the quality of imported bananas are significantly improved, I will not be consuming them at all. The main problems I have with them is the lack of variety, the way they are ripened, and the transportation required. Should we consider how consuming such a foreign product may be alienating ourselves from the ecosystem we live in? Is eating local more important than eating bananas?
