Hi! I am new to this lifestyle. I have been vegan off and on again for 4 years after the birth of my daughter. I realized I was allergic to dairy products, and then watched Food Inc. and some other documentaries. I had gained 50 pounds while I was pregnant and had swollen ankles from the water retention almost the whole time. It was awful. Once I cut the dairy out of my diet, the weight came off so fast! Then I stopped eating meat a little after that and it stayed off for about three years. I was vegan, but I started eating a lot of cookies, drinking coffee, and a lot of fat, even though it was vegan. I thought as long as it's vegan I'm good. So of course the weight came back.
So now I am trying the LFRV lifestyle and I have more energy. I started eating raw this past January, but I was eating too much fat. I stopped the raw diet a couple of times because I was having horrible allergies or cold symptoms. I was probably detoxing, but it was impossible to be outside once the weather warmed up. I was constantly sneezing and blowing my nose. I am starting over, but this time I am keeping the fat and protein low! Hopefully my allergies and/or detox will be over quickly! Has any one else experienced similar detox symptoms?
