I am so excited for this support community for a raw high carb vegan lifestyle. I know it will work for me because I have basically done it in the past but stopped eating as much fruit as I needed and lost my way. So happy to have a community that doesn't want to restrict fruit intake! Woot  Woot. This sideways photo is one of the "before" photos I took today. I will be blogging on my own page if you want to stop in and follow my weight loss journey. I'll probably post in the blog 2 to three times a week. This isn't my first dog and pony show. I've been 100 percent raw before.  I've been high raw before. I've been 120 pounds below my top weight. Today at 215ish I am about 70 pounds above my goal weight of 145 to 150. I have MS so it's especially important for me to keep my weight down. Love and light and blessings to everyone on this path with me. xoxoxox

Do I really have to workout? :( Or can I just maintain the high carb, low fat, raw till 4pm way of eating and still maintain my weight?

I eat sufficient amounts of fruit for breakfast and lunch, and even for snacks (mostly bananas), and for dinner, I like to have a high-carb cooked meal. Currently trying to avoid too much salt, and just adding teeny pinches to add flavor to dishes.

Anyway, I'm human, and sometimes I can really feel LAZY. And sometimes my schedule gets demanding (I'm in college, and I also work part time). And the only times I get t rest are the times I procrastinate on all my work. Haha! :D But whenever I do have the time, I throw in 30-minute workouts around 3 days a week.

So yeah. Please help me! I just need an answer to this question I've been asking for months already. Is it really possible to maintain my weight (I'm fairly thin) even if I just keep eating this way and not workout? Or do I really have to add a bit of exercise?

Yes, you are absolutely right! I have followed you on Dr. Graham's Raw and Sports forum on vegsource and you always offer such sound advice and guidance.  Thank you so much! However, on 30bananasaday it appears that any mention of reducing calories is deemed equivalent to calorie restriction.  It is strongly stressed that ALL women eat a minimum of 2500 calories a day; regardless of age, current weight, activity level or lifestyle.  It seems any mention of weight gain on an 811 diet elicits the response of  'eat more', 'wait a year for body to stabilize', 'it's not possible to gain weight so you must be cheating in some way', etc. Unfortunately, I've experienced it first hand which lead me to follow the path that works for me.  Given this, I don't feel comfortable sharing on this forum.  I usually read every now and then and move on, but for some reason Lila spoke to me and I wanted to help her.

I have also experienced the same issue of gaining weight. It took me 3 yrs to transition from cooked vegan to 80/10/10.  I was following the recommendations on this website and it came to a point when I had to listen to my own common sense.  I already knew what the answer was to losing weight, but I was waiting on approval and validation from those experienced on this forum knowing that it would not come.  I'm in my late forties, work sitting behind a desk for 8 - 10 hrs a day and may get in 15 - 30 minutes of exercise a day.  On a good day, I'm able to go to a Zumba class maybe once a week.  The fact was 3000+ calories was too much for me.  So, I decided to do an experiment with myself.  I knew that must be a threshold where the weight would come off while following 811.  I decided to weigh every morsel of food using fitday.com and go down to 2500 for 2 weeks...nope not it.  Go down to 2000 and I hit the mark.  I've lost on avg 3lbs to 5lbs a week without binge, no hunger or craving, and staying within 811 ratio.  I also found that salads at night doesn't work for me.  I would still be hungry.  I eat my salad for lunch and a large banana smoothie for dinner.  The smoothie has me 'stuffed' that I couldn't eat another bite if I wanted to.
Now, I need to lose another 15 lbs to meet my goal weight and then I'll work on finding the caloric range to maintain.  I also looking into re-joining a gym this month. 
You all know your own personal situation and your inner voice is telling you what you need to do.  Please listen to it and don't wait on approval from people that you don't know and don't know you.

Help! I havent lost any weight on this lifestyle and have been doing it for three months now. I know we arent meant to focus on weight loss but i am struggling atm and am fighting off strong urges to restrict. I exercise three times a week and do a lot of walking on top of that. I use the crono meter to track my cals, i get 2500-3000 a day. I dont want to restrict, support or any advice would be much appreciated?

Hi guys, I just wanted to stop by and I am seriously looking for someone who could adopt this new lifestyle with me so that we can support each other. so basically I am 18 and on 167 pounds , I am a recovering bulimic after some harsh periods of anorexia and seriously I do not lose any weight ( 1500kcal diet  does not work for me , and as soon as I go below I binge again about 10-13 times a day) I want t be healthy, to look good and to stay in shape forever. My parents treat me like crap because I love my stomach like they say it : they never insult me by saying that I am an idiot or whatever but only by : you fat cow here and there. I am done with all those commentaries and with feeling too large , and fat next to a skinny person. 

I love fruits and since I am lactose and gluten intolerant i don't really want to include them into my diet( sometimes substitutions but not more) So basically I want to go gluten& lactose-free and do a raw food diet . 

It just sounds really awkward to me that I can eat without any calories restriction , and I am just afraid of gaining weight even more. I have reached a plateau... 

Are there any prescribed calories , I mean when I see Freelee eat more than 3000 kcal a day and how skinny she is I think that it is maybe to maintain her weight no? 

Could someone help me , some support would be very nice and also maybe answer my questions please, this whole thing is very new to me so ...
