Hi! I am a born again, saved by the blood of Jesus, bible believing Christian in search of some scripture answers.
My dad argues with me repeatedly about eating meat. He argues that it is fine. God allows it. He told the people to eat it after the flood. He asks if it's so bad for us then why did God allow us and tell us to eat it?
I have done LITTLE research on this issue. I'm am just beginning and would love all you can give me.
God tried to put His children on a plantbased diet in Eden, the Wilderness, then we have the examples of Daniel, John the Baptist, and in Heaven everyone will be vegan…Read Numbers11:33, Psalms78:14-30, Daniel1, Nehemiah9:20-22, Psalms106:15.
I love this post, Stefan! God Bless!
I think you summed it up, quite nicely. It is so much fun to explore the depths of the Bible and God's ways and love for us. Its never ending and I love that.
Why would Heavenly Father put in the effort to create beings who are capable of feeling love, and compassion, pain and fear, who have amazing roles in nature, who are so perfect, if he wanted us to slaughter and consume them. I believe in the very beginning of the bible, he tells Adam and Eve to eat the fruit and take care of the animals. Paraphrasing a bit, but look at it. I don't see anything there that says "Lo, and slaughter my creations, and feast upon their flesh."
He is a God of love and compassion, and to see ANY of his creations, human or not, being treated so poorly, so unjustly, so inhumanely, I know it hurts His heart.
"But it's the food chain; animals eat other animals!" Your right, when was the last time you saw a panda chow down on a. steak? or a bird go to town on some chicken kebabs? Gee, I guess not all animals were meant to eat other animals.
