A member of gitmr just stood up for animals here on Mary's "Vegan Letter" Blog. I would like to applaud her courageous comment!!!

OK, this is BS. I do not know how much research you have done but clearly not much. I also do not know why feel you have justify your meat eating-touchy.
I agree there is no such thing as a "vegan" as we are going to be making an impact on some level of course. I also know there have been instances in the past where people did need meat to survive eg the san bushman. Meat was small part of there diet and they lived in harmony. they also had utmost respect for the animal they hunted and the animal had much more of a chance to escape as if another animal was chasing it. In this way the life cycle was intact.
What do you mean by scrub? Do you know anything about the delicate balance of nature? Do you know what "scrub" is? Have you ever studied the impact of a grazing animal out of its natural environment? eg a cow in Africa? Thought not. So you are suggesting "wild meat" with us as the only predator? Peoples taste for meat is the reason the natural predators are close to extinction. There is not enough wild land left to support this!! Do you know the percentage of wild land left? That has not been use for agriculture. Didn't think so.
Do you know what effect meat eating has on the environment versus "vegan" diet ? Have you studied factory farming? It is worse than you could EVER possibly imagine.
