Hey Beautiful ladies,
I would absolutly love to go make up free. I use natural mineral make up at the moment of course its vegan. I cant go make up free as I suffer from a hormonal imbalance therefore I get acne and have a lot of scarring. If I had nice skin I would never wear make up :( I think you ladies are so beautiful and blessed to have to not wear any make up. If circumstances were different I would never wear any.
Peace and Love xo
I went makeup free at 4 1/2 months into lfrv. I had severe cystic acne for over 7 years, all of which I was on harmful medication. When I started low fat raw veganism, I stopped using medications and pills of all kinds. My skin broke out like crazy, even worse than before.
The decision to go makeup free was a tough one. To stop the use of facial cleansers and moisturizers I had to stop using makeup. It is a viscous cycle. If you wear makeup you must wash it off properly, stripping your skin of its natural oils and therefore having to use moisturizer.
I stopped cold turkey one day. My skin looked terrible. It was greasy, red, and inflamed. I apologized to my boyfriend, who had never actually seen my skin due to the fact that I always wore makeup. It took three weeks of the worst skin I've ever experienced before it cleared up. One day it literally disappeared. My acne was gone forever. It was absolutely essential to cut out all facial products. I used only water and a skin brush to exfoliate.
It has now been 10 months since I last had acne. This is the first time in my life that I have clear skin. Of course it was very uncomfortable to go through the three week period of having very bad skin, but I'd do it 10 times over again to experience the beautiful, soft, and smooth skin that I have now.
Fabulous, this is such a great example of what the lfrv diet can do for you if you put in 100% of yourself.
I must say, when I came to lfrv, I plunged into fruits boots and all going cold turkey too. Prior to that I had used the pill contraceptive for the past 7years before, and left it out since day 1 as I started off on lfrv, my skin never broke out, like when I tried to stop using the contraceptives like each year before. I initially used these contraceptives to "cure" my hormone imbalances, which really cleared my skin, but we all know better :) and since then I have never had any issues of acne again.
Sometimes, as I am not 100% yet, (as I sometimes fell off the wagon since but was 100% for the first lets say 5 months...) when i consume anything with coconut oil or olive oil on it, or even avocados / olives / nuts and seeds, or cooked food with salt in, I break out maybe a little bit with a zit or two, but I find that the fastest way to remove those impurities again is to 100% lfrv again and especially make use of at least 6 large grapefruits per day incorporated into your daily eating plan.
:+) hope it helps a little....
As I mentioned I only wear mineral make up and I was with a trea tree cleanser and moisturise with oil. If I had clear skin I would never wear make up. I find it really difficult as I have a LOT of scarring. Its so red and when i get cold it goes grey. I dont know if I can stand people seeing me like that. Its amazing I only wear a tiny bit of make up but it makes all the difference. I am going to a health retreat later this year and plan on wearing no make up there. That will be hopefully a month retreat :) So how do you girls clense your skin then??? As in your skin would become dirty with air toxins and also humidity etc. How do you clean and moisturise it??? I think I read somewhere that lemon is good. Do you ladies use shampoo and conditioner????
I really appreciate all your feedback thank you ever so much
Much love and Peace
Well to be honest, i am still using shampoo, but its an organic local range from our health shop. I would rather also be using something really natural. For cleansing my face I use a natural based creamy cleanser. I dont moisturise, but use rose water and witch hazel when my skin feels dry. Ultimately when well hydrated my skin is not dry. Sometimes I do put a little lemon on the previous spots of hormones (which is almost gone completely).
I heard once that oranges is great for the skin, not sure because I have not tested yet, but planning to make a mask from the dried out orange peels which i will blend into a powder. Maybe it will be great.
I would love to hear what the other ladies does?
