30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone,

I thought it would be practical to introduce ourselves, including telling why the meaning of this group is so important and also what you do to avoid wrong messages that emphasise body-shape (eg. thinspiration).

I've basically introduced myself in terms of this group (in the group description as well as on the board here) and am always looking for good mantras and inspirations (especially a la 80/10/10) where body-size/body-emphasis won't be emphasised at all, but rather achieving optimal health. :)

why so important: GIRLS! REALIZE THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. NO MATTER WHAT.
what to do to avoid wrong messages: don't read that shizz. do you ever notice that only the "brainwashing" or "bad" magazines/ TV show super, unrealistically thin girls? maybe that's just me. be PROUD. be LOUD (okay, maybe not that one). but yes. be CONFIDENT. nothing makes a girl a bullying target than the "pity me, I'm so sad" ideology and attitude.

I couldn't agree more with what you say. These girls that are being portrayed often end up dead because of how they abuse their bodies. It's really sad. :(

Hi, I joined this group because I too agree there is more to us than our weight..We are all different and beautiful on the inside and out..I do not want to be pencil thin like all the models in tv or magazines let's be honest society pushes those views on us but in all reality women are built with more meat on their bones than what we see advertised.

I choose to become more fit because I been there before but got lazy and slacked and now the children are grown and I don't have time for excuses not to care for myself this time around...
