So I got into a very relaxed state to watch Denise, cause I get a little irate when I watch it.  I think I'd like to go through the whole thing and point for point show why what she's saying is nonsense.  The first point she makes is that Vegan diets work because of lots of other factors outside of meat.  But by this reasoning she can't prove that Paleo works either.  I think Dr. Campbell addresses this in his response to her when he says something about 1 to 1 correlations.  Does anybody understand this and can you clarify for me.  Thanks

Yeah, I just want to add to this Rob.  The error lies in equating glucose with the cause of cancer.  Now there might be some overlap here with fasting.  You can see tremendous and rapid decline of cancer and tumors with fasting where all cells would be glucose deprived.  In this situation the body breaks down that which is least necessary to use what it can and throw out that which is bad.  Perhaps the best indicator for healthy foods is to consider what caused the cancer in the first place.  The Hygienic doctors who know most about fasting also recommend very basic, natural diets with fruits and vegetables for recovery.

Hey Doll,

it's a shame we see so much of this CRAP out there. Glucose and fructose feeds cells!! Cells need sugar (carbohydrates-CARBON) and oxygen for energy. Starving cells of sugar (FUEL!) to starve cancer cells (aka weakened/damaged cells) is the same logic allopathy uses destroying cells with chemo and radiation. STUPID STUPID!! CRAP CRAP... SUPER STUPID CRAP!! ... but I ain't mad. ;-) Lol!

It's unawareness of how the body and nature works. Keep on your path sweetheart, and shine everywhere you go. Don't worry about what others do because it's their choices, not yours. And they deal with the consequences, because all this Paleo, Atkins, Primal diet CRAP is just regurgitation of the same, well, CRAP. High protein/fat, animal diets are DEATH diets. It's SO freakin obvious, but people will look for any CRAP they can hold on to so they can justify their complacency.

Love your way, everyday! =) 13

wow...i am on what is sure to be my first of many readings of this amazing account. It reads like a 'This is your life...". Explains so many things and also reinforces where I am and strengthens my resolve as to where I am heading. I am only up to pg 83 but am curious as to whether he explains why they did not uses meat protein as opposed to milk protein/casein in any of their initial rat experiments? I know they explored veg protein, fats etc but I am left with this question!

Hey Prad

Well any promotion is good promotion I guess.

Yes PK. It is good to get challenged and be armed with knowledge. :)

hi liam!

i don't see a trap here. people like denise have been opposing plant-based diets for a couple of decades and we have always responded. she just provided us with an opportunity to highlight the info that is out there in support of the china study ... and we'll keep doing that.

in friendship,

prad

@Liam I totally agree with you that I base my vegan beliefs on far more than this book.

However, people like Denise can bring up thought provoking challenges that can keep us on our toes and bend our minds.  We may never be able to convince Denise herself, but some of the questions she asks, other people will and have asked too.  The more knowledge in my mental arsenal, the better.

I would like to say great work to all the people in this group and their thought provoking contributions.

Peace, PK

It feels like you walked into an unintentional trap creating this group. By doing so you have implied a)that the china study is some kind of foundation to vegan beleifs and b)that you're taking silly uneducated people like Denise seriously. Let her "debunk" the book. If people want to have warped views on nutrition and ignore data supporting veganism then that's their choice. Myself I base my vegan beleifs on far more than this book.
