we updated our homepage with new infos and photos. Now nearly all the content is available in English, too.

We had Durian in Costa Rica in the High Plains and the Caribbean. So there is DURIAN IN COSTA RICA.

The botanical garden in Puerto Viejo (de Talamanca) offers a great variety - wild or semi-wild- the best Durian I ever had. Even better than the wild air shipped ones from orkos.com

Keep observing our homepage. We will buy a property in the southern Caribbean in Costa Rica soon!!

if we will have a property until fall I will inform you. We will offer a place to stay (probably very simple conditions in the very first time) for helping hands.

You are welcome

Hey all!

Hubby and I are coming to Costa Rica in the fall, hoping to stay forever. Does anyone have a farm or know of someone who needs labor/work in return for a place to stay?

@ Mnt Bike Mike... the market is on Thur and Fridays.  We will be there Thursday arriving around 10 am.  Hopefully our paths will overlap and we'll get to meet you.

indeed there is a very good market in Puerto Viejo/ southern Limón province.

A botanical garden sells it's fruits there. If you are lucky you can find the Marang there in an extremly good quality. For me the taste and quality was better than many Durians I've eaten.

Heya all,  I'm in Nicaragua right now and taking the Tika bus tomorrow to San Jose.  Gonna head straight to San Isidro ... the farmer's market is Wednesday and Thursday, right?  Looking forward to some quality fruit.

Any tips on best fruit places to visit whilst in CR?

Wow! this is so exciting there is a group for C.R, We are thinking of visiting in the next few months to check out communities and with a longer view to possibly buying land. Ecuador is somewhere we are considering too.

I fasted with Doug in January and it has sparked a deeper interest in the country.

Hey! I´m in San Jose right now. Heading to Cartago tomorrow for some rock climbing, then down to Dominical Saturday. I´ll be in Dominical for a few days, then heading further south to Pavones. Heading back towards San Jose next weekend and then out to Puerto Viejo area until I fly out of San Jose on the 17th of March.

If you´re around, let´s hang out! I´m traveling solo.

the prices for land vary a lot in Costa Rica. The more you buy the cheaper it is.

Usually the land is prized per hectar (=2,5 acres).

I know two people who sold land in the northern part of CR (not very attractiv there but good for fruits) 9 hectars for $14.000 without road access & public services, the neighbouring land 11 hectars for $70.000 including road access and public services (but no telephone lane). Those prices are the cheapest I heard of in CR.

If you like Nicoya look here:

(speaks german, english, spanish)

google for "real estate costa rica" (+region's name) and you get an idea of the prizes.

But be aware of those prizes because you can safe a lot money if you got enough time and look on your own (at least you should speak some Spanish).

We are not a 100% on 8-1-1 diet but 100% raw. We decided to buy a property on the southern caribbean site this autumn (better for fruits than pacific site).

Our plan is to found a 100% raw eating community. Most likely some people from Germany will follow our plans this autumn and buy properties in the neighbourhood or a big one (50 hectars or more) for all of us.

The English content of our homepage has not completed yet (full version in German only)
