The kin of the community would all have to follow a similar lifestyle. The more specific we get, the fewer suitable people are available. When you get to the stage of having to be a ' Low-fat-raw-vegan, Ringing Cedars-lifestyle lover', doubt there are that many of us around!:)
For me, they would have to at least be into cruelty-free living, have a willingness to participate in community gatherings/Rites, desire the same child education system. What would you require from your potential kin?
At the moment, I don't see myself joining an existing community; I imagine buying land and creating a space for my new family first. Maybe buying a much larger plot than necessary and then inviting trusted friends/relatives to set up their own spaces on the land. People you know and want to be around as your children grow up.
I have a younger brother and sister and would love for them and their possible future children to be my neighbours. Also, my parents would ideally live there to help raise their Grandchildren. However, none of them are yet into this way of living. Can only hope that when they come to visit my own space of love, they are so overwhelmed that they wish to stay and be part of it!
