HI Bee! Lucky you to live in Chicago, I love visiting there. Although I don't know much about their fresh fruit supply...

I live in N. Indiana. Lately I'm eating LOTS of apples (gala, honeycrisp, jonagold, and this week fuji!), lots of dates, pears, plums, tomatoes, some zucchini/summer squash, and greens.

My recent usual meal plan has been apples for breakfast (about 6 blended mixed with 3 chopped); soaked dates for lunch (about 13), and maybe 2 more apples or some greens; and dinner might be a big salad with lots of greens, tomatoes, and zucchini, or another blended apple meal, either plain or with kale or cilantro.

As for dates, there was a thread on here recently about the best online sources. I wish I had it read it before I ordered mine from eatdates.com; NOT very fresh (about grocery store quality) and not much cheaper than buying at the store, either. Now I'm just trying to eat mine up as fast as I can so I can get some from Bautista or the Date People, because those sound amazing.
thanks for replying
