I'm 5'7 and have never been over 115 pounds unless I was pregnant- I've got those comments for years. They honestly really offend me because it's always said in a tone like it's a horrible thing and like they feel sorry for me. Drives me crazy!

YES BABY! THE TONE!!! the tone is everything thats wat pissed me off made me feel insecure. maybe paid off at the end for me cos went gym got stronger and better. but they could of handled it better then that way.

Car crash cushion :D

Many lols here, but your message rings true, ML

It's the height of rude-itude to call out an overweight peep, but perfectly acceptable to sling skinny slurs.

Interestingly, in my own town, we're about to host a Body Acceptance Festival.  This is a loaded topic.

One the one hand, of course no one should devalue themselves or be belittled for being overweight.  Everyone is a person of worth regardless of their physique.

But at the same time, there's no reason to accept it or even worse revel in it as is becoming popular today.  It's unhealthy to be chronically overweight, plain and simple, both for the individual and for those for whom they care or who might have to care for them someday.

It's ok to acknowledge weaknesses, which we all have in one form or another, and work to improve them.  Sometimes this can even include weight gain, which we've seen some folks go through as they improve past lifestyle habits.  But it's all part of the greater longterm health picture, which should always be our focus.

But for a fine "dang, you skinny!" rebuttal, try with a wink Wallis Simpson's famous line "you can never be too rich or too thin."

SO TRU! and HAHAHA the simpsons line lol

I agree, it´s not ok to call someone too skinny, when it´s said as a critic.

But you must not forget that a really high number of people are overweight because they have a thyroid disorder or hormonal imbalances, not because they eat unhealthy or don´t exercise enough. So it´s not all right either to criticize someone for being overweight. And a vegan diet alone won´t cure those people!!

i mean it's not like it's inherently wrong, it's just like would you want someone to do that to you in return?

Learn to welcome the feedback   :  )   especially if it pisses us off   almost always  some truth being offered  for us

resist nothing  listen to what people say    and ask yourself silently    is what they say true

ok i am skinny ?   :  )       learn to not  take anything personal    easy to say  life work to do it real life in the moment .

but when its done   feels free   nice feeling happens

true. it's freeing when you can embrace what was intended to insult you.

hahaha you're buzzzzzzing in this video. many lol's keep making vids bud!

yes... all that fruit im eating :p but REALLY!
