30 Bananas a Day!

Hello everybody,

So I have been peeling and slow juicing oranges with a hurom slow juicer for a while now, but peeling the oranges just takes to much time. I did learn some new orange peeling tricks like using my ceramic knife and just cutting the peel off.

However it still takes to much time, and I have seen some great orange juicers out there..

So I did some googling today and saw oranges juicers from 10 to 5000 Euro :D

I would prefer to only cut the orange in half and then juice it, I don't mind doing some hand work, but the less cleaning the better, I would also still prefer quality juice.

Manual labour or electric? Something easy to clean or some elaborate device?

So what is your experience with orange juicers?

Would the bellow pictured one be a good deal? Does it work practical? I try to juice about 3 to 6 litres at ones, in one or two times a week.

Update: Bought a Solis Citruspers Pro 845

Last year I bought a Solis citrus juicer. I paid in Holland about 200 euro's. It's a very good one!

Solis Citruspers Pro 845? Looks pretty nice :D Why is it good?

Yes I bought this one. It juices very good and is easy to clean.

Good enough for me! If it works for my fellow 811-er, countrymen and with age comes wisdom ;) It will be delivered tomorrow :D Thank you Tonny.

Ik heb er onlangs ook een aan mijn zoon en schoondochter cadeau gedaan en zij zijn er heel blij mee! Hopelijk jij ook Jelle!

Ja, Jelle ik ben super blij met de Solis. Een aanrader. Jelke

How much pulp do these juicers leave in the juice?  Isn't there a fair amount of calcium in the pulp, hence why I like to slow blend the whole orange(minus peel)?

I don't know how much pulp these juicers leave...

Yes there is! I estimate a 50% calcium decline when juicing the orange, eating the whole food is always the best. However peeling the orange takes time, eating the orange takes more time :) So for me it's a compromise between getting more calcium by drinking juiced oranges versus not eating them and going for other fruits.

My experience is that the manual juicer is so much quicker, it takes me max 10 minutes to get 1.5L of juice, before with an electric juicer it took at least 30 - 40mins. See my photos on my profile to see the juicer.

Nice  juicer Celia,

I use the Dutch hurom slow juicer, but I understand Jelle his problem.

Alex

i got one just like that,  love it

Hi Sunshine, you got something like the Solis Citruspers or the Manual one like Celia owns and shown in my discussing description?
