30 Bananas a Day!

On local group rides i get yelled at to shift allot, and people often tell me to lower my cadance. I have no computer or powermeter on my bike yet so i wasnt sure what it was anyway. I hopped on an exercise bike at gym lastnight and saw that my avarage cadence stayed between 100-115 and often jumped into the high 120s, forget what my average watts where but ill check again either today or tommarow.

I know i need a comp and i will have one asap, but my income is bleuqe rigt now so: should i lower my cadence or is it good?

100 is usually considered a good cadence.  120 when you're really pushing it is ok but if you're just going easy with 120 you should probably move up a gear.

Anything above 110 is too much for me IMO

100 is about right on a geared bike. My computer doesn't measure RPM's but I know what's about right for me.

climbing, cruzing and TT you want to be 90-110.

Sprinting over 130rpm.

The hour record is set at around 105rpm. 

Team pursuit around 110rpm.

Epic rides around 90rpm.

You're riding with *%$?#heads if they tell you to shift to ride at a lower cadence ;-(

If they're telling you in a nice way and giving you the reasons why...that's a bit better ;-)
