Am I the only crazy person that hates them??? (I like them juiced only)
After i finished devouring my sexy peaches, I thought I would give pears another shot but I found myself forcing them down.
When I normally eat my fruit its a blissful experience, but when I eat apples and pears its like I am being punished!!!!
Not only that but they hardly have any calories...
I am thinking maybe its because I am in Australia???
Harley did say that the fruit here sucked...
Maybe apples and pears are not so bland elsewhere?
I swear it feels like I am eating 100% fibre. I prefer to eat cardboard!!!:P
I have similar feelings ;) LOL and peaches are sexy!!!! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one avoiding the apples and pears ;-)
I used to enjoy apples and pears, but I find them meanwhile boring. Maybe that's because they're (the apples at least) native in my country.
I totally agree, I don't even know why people bother eating apples or pears, they're a complete waste of time.
One of my brahs who I look up to and always need to impress, reckons the 'apple a day, keeps the doctor away' come about when the orchard growing folk colluded with the medical practitioners to get rich. I believe doctors in Sydney get kickbacks from the apple growers in Tasmania whenever an inner city hipster doofus bites into an apple.
If the whole thing turns out to be untrue, it is at least a nice story.
Steve I never used to believe that saying but it is in fact true.
Before, when the I had heavy plaque formation, I used to smash many apples for lunch and it used to leave my teeth crystal clean. Apples are very very abrasive fibre. I am pretty sure thats how they deduced that saying, but I could be wrong man:P
Of course you cannot have any tarter to notice this effect and most SAD people have tarter
It is as Alex said, true. Apples are extremely healthy and their skin has potent anti-cancer properties.
Starkrimson pears (bright red) come out of Oregon and Washington and they are amazing. Aside from that I mostly agree, though there are some exceptions.
They sound delicious Mat, I have never heard of them here though.
The pears I had today were William Bartlet...never again!
not a fan of pears or pear juice. just don't like the taste. i love a ripe crisp and sweet apple but honestly how often does that occur? these farmers need to pull their heads out of their asses and quit yanking fruit off the tree when it don't wanna come off yet. ever eaten a meal of apples? takes forever, but it's actually a very effective laxative.
lol yeah, they are very good at cleaning the pipes.
Danny you may be on to something.... is it because they are picked unripe? is that why they don't have any taste? I thought they continue to ripen & sweeten after they are plucked.
well pears have to be ripened off the tree; apples don't ripen after they're picked.
I eat them! Don't hate.
Apples are amazing! Honeycrisps, galas, granny smiths, crispins, jonna golds . . .
When you get apples picked right off the tree half a mile from your house, there is no comparison. They taste juicy, crisp, and sweet. They are honestly among my favorite fruits!
I may be biased however, as I live in an area that is one of the best in the world for growing apples. We even devout a festival to their flowers! The Apple Blossom Festival. Original right?
But I guess I've always been kind of lucky when it comes to apples since I literally get free bushels of the good stuff. I can agree that some apples, (especially the ones that aren't local) taste awful. Its most likely because they were grown in sub-par conditions and picked too early.
Don't give up on apples yet! Come try the ones in upstate NY during the season.
So true. Nothing better than a sweet juicy apple ripe off the tree and just minutes from your home.
Honeycrisps are my favorite.
