Hi, so I was just looking at a discussion about conventional non organic bananas and the problems with pesticides. Sure eating fruits and veg that are non organic is not ideal but it must be better than eating cooked food right? I'v been doing the 80 10 10 for a few weeks now and not once have I bought organic fruit or veg because its rare to find, and when I do its too expensive for me. So far I feel great!! So what are peoples thoughts on this??
I think it is extremely important to note that it is impossible to achieve purity on this diet. Pollution, stress, and a multitude of other factors come into play that describe your health.
Yes organic is optimal, but conventional is still wayy better than cooked food. I wouldn't have a panic attack if I were you. If you're buying your fruit in bulk just be sure to try before you buy. If it tastes good then you know you're all set. I eat mostly conventional with a few things (leafy greens, some herbs and some bananas) organic, and that's because of financial reasons. And the best part about it is I totally feel ions better eating conventional fruit and veg rather than any sort of cooked. But I will admit that organic does make a difference. Hey, 100 mile champ Mike Arnstein doesn't even eat organic 100% of the time. Our world makes it impossible for organic to be available 100% of the time.
99% of the world is eating junk while you're/we're worrying about eating organic vs conventional produce. And they are still barely getting by. LOL I love perspective! :-)
Sounds like someone wants an excuse to eat some cooked food.
