hi everyone. i was wondering what kind of cleaning-products is everyone using? are you using"green products" or do you just buy whatever is available and the things your mom used?
do you buy a green product even if it is more expensive than the regular chemicals at the local supermarket? do you care about if these products are tested on animals?
i would really like to see which laundry detergent, dish-washing-liquid, hand soap, all-purpose cleaner, fabric softener... you are using
Works, smells great and is SAFE.
There's a little book called Clean: The Humble Art of Zen-Cleansing by Michael DeJong that has recipes for cleaning anything and everything using various combinations of just baking soda, salt, vinegar and borax. We use these things for most household cleaning, along with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint. If the house gets a vinegar smell, pop some citrus peels in some water on the stove to simmer along with some cinnamon or cloves! :)
For hand washing, dish washing, mopping, and general cleaning I use Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap as well.
To clean my bathtub, kitchen and bathroom sink, and toilet, I use baking soda and dr. bronner's soap.
For laundry I use biokleen laundry powder. 1 box lasts me several months!
I also may use some essential oils mixed in with the dr. bronner's and baking soda for cleaning such as eucalyptus, peppermint, and tea tree.
Hope that helps! :)
When I was younger I was told water+vinegar was good for at least cleaning counters.
