Hello All, I don't have health insurance and I don't have any doctor friends. All the places I'm seeing online require a prescription to buy the inject-able B-12. How do you guys get B-12??? Also, I want to do the injections at home. Any info is greatly appreciated!!!!
You can go to most Sprouts Farmers Markets in the LA area and they have a Naturopathic doctor who visits most stores once a month and gives B12 shots. You do not need a perscription and is usually around twenty dollars. Contact some of the Sprouts and ask.
FYI for those traveling:
Methylcobalamin ampules can be purchased over the counter in the Philippines. When I'm in Manila I visit the Mercury drugs stores which are everywhere. Unfortunately I never saw methyl in Thailand. Tip: most pharmacists will ask you first if you have used it before. If you answer "No" to their question they will require a prescription.
The cost of 25 ampules of 500mcg is 8000 pesos which is $195.60 at the exchange rate there of 40.90 pesos to the dollar. (purchased in May 2013). That's almost $8.00usd for one 500mcg ampule. The box says they are produced in Japan.
Easy to get Methyl shots in Thailand if you hunt around. Any b12 ampule will work though so its not like its 'methyl or nothing'. Ive given myself and others shots with just cyano and then we tested their blood a few days later and noticed a massive spike in b12 serum levels.
Thanks for the info :)
