Hey Taylor, this is briefly explained in 80/10/10 by D Graham, which you should definitely read if you haven't already. Onions and garlic serve as neurotoxins and gut irritants. They also mask tastes a little too well, causing you to want to consume unnatural foods that you wouldn't otherwise (herbs do the same thing). On the other hand, fruits are so delicious and desired by our system inherently that there is no need for these toppings.

If you're just starting out, you can try adding the green tips of green onions/scallions (as they're much milder). Freshly squeezed lemon and lime juice is great for salads imo. Oh, and there are tons of recipes around 30BaD for AMAZING fruit-based dressings. Liz just posted up a video from Megan's book of a citrusy mix. Hope this helps! :)

Yea thanks thats great. I want to read the book but am having trouble getting hold of it in the UK.  Are green onions the same as spring onions? or shallots? x

Yeah, it's definitely easier to get a hold of here in the states :/.

Green onions = spring onions = scallions = green shallots. Shallots themselves are different. Confusing, eh?

Very! Thank you :)
Interesting, thanks. I'll give that a go :)
They still make my body and breath smell even if I cut and air them.  Personally, I avoid them for this reason.
Yup, they make you smell SAD!:)

Do You Find This Stimulating?

by Dr. Graham

Onions and garlic are stimulating and irritating to the body.  Try green onions as a milder alternative.  I used to be a huge garlic eater, after going without for over 8 months I tried a little tiny bit, less than half a teaspoon and it gave me a terrible stomach ache, I was so shocked.  I tried it again at a later time and again the same stomach ache.

Garlic, put my skin dried ...
