Brita is not advanced in technology at all, when compared to the technology I have sitting beside my kitchen sink. Brita may remove some impurities but if you are living off of municipal city water, it will not remove nearly enough of these oxidants to make the water safe to drink.
Water is water..... I agree that treated tap water is optimal but it suits me fine and like I said, I'm grateful I have it at the turn of a tap. Many other things around me will age me, nature itself. You won't convince me but nice try.
My water filter is very portable. The system I have is not only a filter though, it actually ionized my water for better hydration, and it has different settings where I can make different pH waters. It can make up to 11.5 pH water to soak my veggies and fruits in! I drink the 9.0 pH water and it makes me feel great and healthy..
Here is the one I have it's made by a Japanese company called Enagic (www.enagic.com)
It makes 11.5 pH water
that when you soak your fruits and veggies in it, it emulsifies with the oil based pesticides and they come off plus this water does many other things
it has settings for 8.5pH water, 9.0 pH water, and 9.5 pH water
These all are meant for drinking, I started off at 8.5 pH but now I am at 9.0 pH and 9.5 pH
On these settings the device ionizes the water and thereby making the water more oxygen and antioxidant rich :P
Makes neutral (7.0 pH) water that your can drink with medication or other uses.
Makes 5.5 pH water (acidic) that is called Beauty water. I sprayed this water on my face a couple time and it tends to make my face feel toned and pretty clean.
It also makes strong acidic water (2.5pH) that is so acidic it can be used to kill bacteria
