what is your favorite way of exercising (without the use of gym) and why?

Dancing, yoga(though this is more then an exercise), rebounding, and walking.

Swing Dance!! I havn't done it yet.. but darn i'm already hooked. talk about high energy!!
also: callisthenics, swimming, ashtanga yoga, different styles of dance, tae bo, badminton.... what ever inspires you really..

Running :-). I also love dancing and want to get back into it after my overseas trip in December. Biking is also great. I'm not doing it enough
I love walking, and at home I use a few Tae Bo DVDs- I like them more than other workout DVDs as I don't get much time to exercise and I feel that I get a really good, sweaty workout for the time I spend using them :)
My fave is dvds at home: lately (b4 I hurt my wrist) I've been into kettlebells, step cardio, some yoga.

D Graham says somewhere (in his fitness book maybe?) that we need to do cardio, weights, flexibility, and 2 more? hhmmm...will need to look this up or someone here will know.

I think it's best to do what you enjoy, so you'll keep doing it! Start small and add on.
For me physically, mentally, emotionally, and every other way possible, the best exercise is HIKING!!! You can't beat it!! Gets you out in nature, in the fresh air and among the beautiful greenery and trees and fresh air, it's free, it works your entire body, and you can do it socially or by yourself.

Yoga - The Sun Salutation A really gets my energy flowing. Also The Five Tibetan Rites and walking

EDIT:
Forgot the why :-) To me yoga is an opportunity to exercise mindfully, which has not been the way I used to do it. So I'm actually also training self-love somehow :-)
