Any of you who experience or have experienced acne or spots, what do/did you use on them that helped? I am using TCP, but I don't really know whether this really helps or not. I prefer not to use harsh anti acne products for spots as they are very drying on my skin.

I recommend witch-hazel (astringent), as it's a strong anti-oxidant, and its ability to reduce inflammation of the skin is amazing. It can be used for a multitude of dermal problems, and is a fraction of the price of most conventional, chemical-laden toners.

I used to use witch hazel, but then I read that it's not very good for sensitive skin as it contains some alcohol. What kind of skin type do you have? Also you are not meant to use it on broken skin. How often do you use it?

I have quite sensitive, fair skin. I've only ever had positive results with it, too. I agree, though; using it on broken areas wouldn't be the best idea, since it is potent.

I only use it when I have a break-out or other skin-inflammation. The trick is to use it only where needed. However, since going HCRV, I haven't had to use it much.

TCP is an anticeptic with many purposes, quite popular in the UK and usually applied to cuts or stings.
I tried tea tree essential oil but I found it to harsh and drying so perhaps thyme will be the same. Do you think that jojoba oil on its own helps to get rid of spots too?

You could try very diluted tea tree oil, otherwise just leave them and be gentle on your skin.  I had some big cyst-like pimples on my neck when I started and especially monthly.. but I haven't had that since about January.  I just get little ones now.  It'll get better.
The other thing I do is splash water on my face and towel dry, through the day, so that oil is wiped away and no dirt can build up.

Wash with hemp oil. If you are on this lifestyle and cleanse with hemp it like sucks the pus out. Also use witch hazel after. I still have acne because I just started to eat better but these topical treatments have improved my skin. Also cleanse with raw honey in the morning.

oops, my bad new member.

Spotted skin, scars and acne marks make you feel embarrassed and hurt self-esteem as well. Many of us opt for cosmetics and other products to get rid of acne residues. There are many home remedies which have proven their effects on lightening these skin marks. Tomato and Lemon Juice: Take a “fresh tomato” and make its paste. Mix it well with one tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the paste on face for around 20 minutes and rinse it off gently with water after 20 minutes. Pulp of Aloe Vera: Let the pulp from Aloe Vera dry for 5 minutes in sun. Add 6-8 drops of lemon juice to it and apply on the affected area and face for 15 minutes. Onions: Cut the onion into small pieces. Grind those pieces and separate the juice from the residue. Apply the juice for few minutes on the affected skin and rinse after 10 minutes. Cucumber and Milk: Make a paste out of cucumber, milk and a bit of lime extract. It will serve as a face mask. Apply thoroughly and wash it with warm water after 10 minutes. You must consider a visit to dermatologist in severity of the condition. But, these home remedies are proven effective in getting rid of acne marks, black spots, pimples and dark spots.

From what I understand, garlic, oil, spices, salt tends not to be the best for managing acne if you are still consuming a bounty of condiments. After going fruit/veg the acne went entirely away after a few weeks.

What works for me are tea tree oil and salicylic acid.
