That's what I'm up against right now. I've been looking for a job but as of right now I've been SOL, used up all the bananas yesterday and probably still only got in about 1500 calories. Ate my last mango today and just had some celery...I feel too invested in this raw thing to give into any cooked food (makes me feel even worse)... it seems like it would be easier to fast till I manage to get my hands on more bananas or something.
Food banks sometimes have bananas if that's something you can do. And if you don't want to go down the rice avenue get raisins, they go far calorie wise and are cheap though not raw. Good luck. I went to the food bank a couple times, I have always given to them at different times during the year so didn't feel bad. When I told them I was on an all fruit diet they also gave me loads of prunes. Saving those for armageddon! yik
Are there any fruity friends in AZ that can send you a care package (i.e. full of dates!)?
i drive around and spot peoples trees with tons of fruit and knock on the door and ask. i usually walk away with a couple bags full of fruit.
i live where everyone has orange trees and grapefruit and other fruit trees, so on my nightly walk i usually see people that put out piles of fruit on their front lawn with bags and signs that say free....
very easy to stay fed... and i have 2 orange trees, a grapefruit tree and a tangelo tree... also have a grape vine and i grow my own vegies...
i suggest growing tomatoes or other vegies...
never had the trouble of running out of money so i cant help you there..
this happened to me and I was living of icky cooked rice for a while.
Go to a Whole Foods and eat their samples?
Durianrider has a good point there.
And although I have never done this, out of pure desperation, you might try dumpster diving at Whole Foods. Just a thought. My cousin used to get all of the "throw out" fruit at the end of the day at a farmer's market and take it to homeless people. I could see using the same idea to feed yourself.
Make it happen??? Idk.
