30 Bananas a Day!

Hi all!

I am super-super new to the HCLF lifestyle and am trying to get my head around it all. I have been watching YouTube videos of Durianrider and Freelee, and I see Freelee using flavoured drops in some of her smoothies - like vanilla and stuff.

Does anyone know what these drops are called? And the brand? And perhaps where I can source them online?

Looks like you can push buy on bottom of page. Or you can order them on amazon.

Those are stevia drops, highly processed and unnatural. Not something that should be included in this lifestyle in my opinion. Many people experience bad side effects from stevia; you can google it. I tried adding them to smoothies and became very dizzy almost immediately and when I went to exercise my blood pressure would drop so low that I would get very nauseous and almost pass out. If you want a vanilla flavor, I recommend this: http://www.amazon.com/Vanilla-Powder-Raw-Sunfood/dp/B009ZLYWSG/ref=.... A bit pricey but worth it. Even plain 'ol vanilla extract would be a better choice than the stevia drops IMO. 

I might listen to RAWnia because I have no experience with this I do not use them but I was just answering your question of what kind Freelee uses and she does use those I am almost 100% sure those are the one she uses.  I have no doubt they are potentially problematic.  Keep in mind just because Freelee uses them doesn't mean you should or have to.  Freelee is beautiful and amazing and an inspiration but you don't have to do everything she does.  I don't even make smoothies I just eat fruit and greens as is.  Also Freelee eats cooked foods sometimes and I do not.  Although they do eat cooked sometimes they say fruit no doubt is best but as a back up if you can't get enough calories of fruit then cooked starches are a back up plan. 

You're right, Fruit of Life, those are the ones Freelee uses. I just received 2 bottles of it today. Now I'm a little hesitant to try it after what RAWnia said. Yikes.

Awe well they might not be ideal however you could try them and see if you handle them ok.  They are not a health food clearly but I am sure in small amounts it wont cause much harm for most folks and could be a fun addition to smoothies.  If in the future you are more comfortable not using them there are always other alternatives such as the one RAWnia suggested or you could go with coconut sugar or something like that.

Thanks, yeah I'll give it a go and see how I fare. And thanks also -- you just reminded me I wanted to get some coconut sugar next time I'm out running errands.
