30 Bananas a Day!

So it is recommended to eat at the very minimum 2500 calories a day for women and 3000 calories a day for men. But I've been led to believe my whole life that in order to lose weight, you have to have a calorie deficit. It I'm eating 2500 calories a day, I'd have to be extremely active to create a calorie deficit. I know there's no way I'm burning 2500 calories a day, let alone more than that to create a deficit. So how does fat loss work on this diet if you don't have a calorie deficit? Clarification please?

A read through Aloha to 30BaD's Welcome Wagon! will explain the 30BaD way.

With my experience, which isn't based on science really just what I have personally observed is: more food in=more food coming out the other end=more weightloss. Less food in=less food out=less weight loss.

But also I remember reading around here about dietary thermogenesis which is basically when all your glucose stores are filled(these stores can hold over 1,000 cals I believe), and if you still have excess glucose your body will start burning glucose to heat up your body; fat burns in the flame of carbohydrates.

So it seems that if you were eating 2,500 cals and not extremely active your body would just burn excess glucose keeping you nice and toasty.  But the caveat here is that your body really will only go into dietary thermogenesis if you've healed your metabolism/damage from eating disorders/drugs/stimulants and what not.

That was a really general description of dietary thermogenesis so don't quote me >_/p>

I've been doing this for a little over a year now and haven't lost much weight(I peaked at 170 and now I'm around 163), but a couple months ago I started to notice I don't get cold feet when I hop in bed at night anymore, and that I can feel heat emanating from my feet/hands...but this only happens when I eat over 3,000 calories.
