30 Bananas a Day!

I became vegan at the end of march (roughly 6 months ago), and up until 3 months ago, I was losing weight, felt happier within myself, had tons more energy and was actually slimming down for the first time in forever.  I weighed 55kg (120lbs) before going on the 801010 diet. After I started I lost about 2kg (4lbs). 5/6 months in and I've reached my highest weight ever of 59/60kg. All I'm eating is fruits and vegs, drinking 4-6l of water per day, avoiding salt and fat at all costs, nothing processed, and around 1300-1500kcal per day. I currently weigh more than I ever have even when eating junk food, eating a bar of chocolate a day, barely no fruits, hardly any water. Even though I don't feel as chubby as I did before, it's kind of disheartening to see the number constantly grow on the scale and I'm clueless as to why I'm gaining weight. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hi Emma,

this explains exactly how I was before upping my calories to at least 2000+ everyday...though I was still undereating. You need to eat as much as you want and do NOT NOT NOT restrict calories to lose weight. I tried restricting my calories of HCLF vegan food and I ended up actually gaining more water weight/fat. Restricting actually makes you gain weight (fat), I know it is weird. Try upping the calories to at least 2500 gradually and you will reap the benefits. High carb raw, lots of fruit and some veg helped me slim down. Potassium actually helps the fat in our bodies to go away. I don't know how that works, but I have read that. This is why when I eat more calories (ie more potassium rich fruits) I seem to slim down overnight. It is really weird. 

I was RT4 (cooked mainly) and felt sorta sluggish and not at my peak physique. I retained a lot of weight water by eating rice at night (maybe because it is kinda toxic?? i dont know) I would say stay HCLF Raw vegan vs. cooked.

Go out and buy 2 boxes of bananas and try banana island with romaine lettuce supplement. Doing so made me feel fantastic and so energetic, along with making me feel leaner. The focus should not be on weight though. DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF. Putting food/water in your stomach/intestines WILL MAKE YOU GAIN WEIGHT, just not fat. Measure by how tight your clothes fit in the morning. In the morning you will be the leanest, since the glycogen stores (water necessary for storing carbs in body) will be depleted. That is my experience.
