30 Bananas a Day!

So I was just making myself a nice orange smoothie for breakfast because I saw a recipe somewhere that said it's good to blend oranges with their peel on. And I blended 5, and the taste was so bitter and bad I even sneezed! Then I added totally five bananas and some frozen mango, even some raw protein powder and carob but still couldn't hide that bitter taste. 

Now my mouth is burning and tummy hurting (probably because of the food combining) and I just had to throw the whole smoothie away. I had no idea what else to put in there, and just the smell of it made me gag. 

I feel bad about the bananas which I just wasted, also the oranges (but not so much;) and mangoes. This wasn't even the first time me throwing something I blended away, actually it was third within a week. Maybe I am just bad cook, even when I just throw things in a blender.. 

Have you ever had similar issues? I think I should just stick to the whole fruits and blend only nanas and dates.. Or buy them somewhere ready ;)

You M'am, you must have a lot of courage to blend oranges with the peel. I could never - it's very bitter omg.

I like to blend dates with apples tho. And Mangoes with berries. Or I add berries to the nanas. 

Once I put an entire smoothie away because I added to much parsley into the nanas - ugh that was awful x)

Yeah, it's just so sad to watch when I do that, maybe I'll learn someday (;

Oh If you add a bit of vanilla and cinnamon to it it tastes like a xmas applepie :-D

i once blended with the peels also...of about 8 oranges. it was disgusting, but i actually drank a whole glass anyways, after that i sat there staring at my second glass and just couldnt anymore. pretty soon after i had intense stomach pain that lasted until the next day. later i read online that consuming the peel of an orange can be healthy if its like 1/4 of 1 orange, and more than that is toxic to the body. 

next time just use the juice; ) and never give up, everything is learning by doing

Put it down to a 'bitter' lesson learned.

Keep your smoothie recipes simple. Stick to what you know is going to work and make little variations every now and then.

Over time you will become more familiar with what is tasty and what is potentially not so tasty.

I was going to ask you if you have a compost bin or bay but considering you live in Finland I would guess this may be very challenging due to your long winter. It's where you can throw food scraps from plant matter and turn into lovely growth medium for your garden.

Yes, that is true!

Haha yeah, I know people who live in country and have compost bays, but unfortunately I cannot. At least I got biowaste but garden would be nice..
