Yesterday my dad and brother were looking at my face and said "you don't have acne. Its a skin disease from vitamin or mineral deficiency." My dad thinks its from B12, and it probably is. If it is even a deficiency, I really don't know.
I have had acne like this for almost a year, it basically happened almost over night, and it kept getting worse. Nothing will make it go away that I have tried, and it is very annoying and embarrassing to have.
I cannot get shots or supplements considering I am in Costa Rica, and I don't know what to do. Is it a B12 deficiency that is causing this, or is it a different deficiency, or is it even a deficiency?
I have photos attached to show what it looked like around 6 months ago (the first one), and what it looks like now (the last two).
blood tests are the only objective way to know for sure about vitamin deficiencies. what changes did you make shortly before the break out?
well, I was not 811 and I wanted to lose weight (I was a high fat raw gourmet, anorexic, bulimic) and I did not need to lose any weight, but I stopped eating for a while, then I started eating high fat gourmet raw foods, then I started eating raw fish, then I went to 811 and it got worse. I have been 811 for 6 months or more, so it cannot be detoxing anymore.
with these kind of health issues I would just give it more time and just keep going over all your lifestyle details to make sure you are consistently doing things optimally.

For b12 you should get a bloodtest before supplementing but maybe better safe than sorry

Are you eating high oxalate foods like kale and spinach?
Do you drink juices? Juicing causes acne breakouts for many of our members.
For optimum results:

Eat a primate like diet where most carbohydrates and calories come from whole raw ripe fruits supplemented with about ½-2 pounds of lettuce greens a day and about a handful of raw nuts or seeds a day. Eat enough on a daily basis with at least 2500 calories for females and at least 3000 calories for males. Drink 2-4 quarts of water a day and pee clear. Get 8-12 hours of sleep as needed. Exercise about 30 minutes a day 5-6 days a week with at least one day off for rest and repairs. Get about 30 minutes of sunshine a day on your skin for vitamin D, mental health, eye health, and healthy bones and teeth.

That's true. It could be something else, like food intolerance or something. I'm pretty sure I get enough sleep. But yeah I will try to figure it out, or get it checked out before calling it a "deficiency"

Your acne looks similar to how mine did a couple of years ago. The acne on my cheeks and forehead improved significantly after I started using dilute tea tree oil. I originally used neat TTO on a cotton pad but without diluting it is an irritant. Eventually I just started dunking my whole head in a bucket of water + TTO. Initially daily, then weekly, now I do it monthly. The TTO is fairly expensive but it seemed to work for me. You have to be very careful not to get any in your eyes. Otherwise, try not to touch or exfoliate.
B12 deficiency isn't normally linked to acne. My experience is that after B12 shots my acne gets considerably worse - I guess whatever corrective effects the B12 shots have is causing an hormonal imbalance.

...it could still be detox. Depends on what you eat, all raw, cooked, how much fat? and then for how long since going back? I would get a few random pimples that look like yours (just not as many) on my face or neck or hairline when I ate processed foods/too much sodium or too much fat. <--Cut those out, stay well hydrated, carb up and your face will clear beautifully!
Call me crazy but there are actualy some raw foods that make me brake out. if I have to many avos, or oranges (not together of course). But I would just put some apple cider vinger on your face (always helped me) and wait. I know it sucks but just let the lovin of the fruits take hold! :) best of luck!
