I figure I would start a thread on the victories of people doing what needs to be done.
Some may believe what can be done well some are working on the solutions.
Here is one to start with.
Very true Vegan Witch.
This real man has helped out 140 beings. :-)
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope... and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. ~Robert F. Kennedy
alf is sending out much more than ripples - they are building tsunamis!
Fantastic quote from one of the real leaders of our time.

The story is on the page.
"He who is most noble is he who raises his voice for those silenced by oppression." ~ Jonathan Azaziah
Today I was going into the dollar store to buy a pair of gloves and as I walked toward the door I noticed a pigeon. What was odd for me was the pigeon did not fly away. It was huddled in the corner. As I looked closer the feathers where a bit roughed up and as I looked closer I noticed a part of it’s head was exposed. A red gap.
I went inside to call the humane society and a wildlife animal sanctuary to help out the poor bird. As I watched the bird from the window to make sure nothing happened to him/her. I noticed a middle aged lady looking also at the bird and then I noticed her body language changing to a concern look. She quickly grabbed for her phone I assumed to call for help.
I noticed this so while speaking to someone I I interrupted the person on the other end and told her “ I was talking to someone about it. She was relieved and my assumption was right.
The humane society did not have anyone to pick them up at the moment but they said we would need to get the pigeon in a box and they would try to get someone as soon as possible.
So we both came into the store and I grabbed a box and she a piece of cardboard. Of course we where both concerned not hurt the bird any further. In the mean time many people walked buy and noticed and didn’t do anything and one guy said “all this for a pigeon.” Saying this after he noticed we where making efforts. And the girl I was with said “ yes all beings should be protected” of course I was smiling. I told her he is just another idiot.
I went off my car to drop off some gloves and when I came back the bird had moved . Another lady tried to grab the bird. Now it was hiding and trembling behind the garbage can. So with me on one end and now another man on the other end we managed to get the poor bird in the box. Now the interesting thing was the guy who said “ all this for a pigeon” was one of the helpers yet he was still dumb founded that it was “all this for a pigeon” I told him Yes of course.
I phoned the humane society and told them. They were happy to know we had the bird in a box and now they would come and meet me. They came and picked the pigeon up.
I did not know the gender so I said call him Archie or Cathy. She laughed and left with the bird.
It was a neat experience because this one lady out of many was willing to do something. I was glad to have met her another victory.
