In about a week or so I will be moving from sunny California to brisk, cold Maine to attend college! In need of some heavy duty, quality snow-proof boots, I intended on buying them from L.L. Bean. I recently have decided not to, because I DO NOT SUPPORT ANIMAL CRUELTY, but nonetheless, need some good boots if I would like to survive my nine months there. SO PLEASE, if anyone knows good, not too pricey boots I could purchase online in the US, let me know!!! Im desperate here!
Some boots I plan on looking into getting when it gets cold soon is a pair of Bogs. I've heard that they asuper toasty and waterproof. There are a lot of choices of Bogs on Zappos. Plus they have videos if you want to see them in action.
At first, I thought they looked a little bulky but they have grown on me. I like the mountain woman look. :)
It also helps that I got stuck outside in the middle of winter on a trip to Chicago with a poor choice of footwear on... Not doing that again.
Another boot to look into is XtraTuf. Two friends used those when they lived & worked the docks in Alaska. So they should work for your time in Maine.
