30 Bananas a Day!

Hi all

I have been trying to do some research for my running shoes.

I remember DR recommended Brooks Green Silence... But I did some more research and they came BOTTOM on the Ethical Consumer when you put animals with high priority, and very low even when you keep things "balanced.

Here is the juice:

Brooks trainers

Product Score: 4.5

Anyway, I also came across this on www.VeganRunners.co.uk:

The Vegan Running Shoes

All running shoes with N in the label/product code are vegan

All but the 'addiction walker' are vegan

cobra, viper ev

All but the Roclite 400 GTX Boot

Some styles are vegan friendly*

All running products are vegan friendly

All are vegan

Pearl Izumi

Leather-free are vegan friendly

Not vegan

Not vegan

Sounds comfy, just the way I like it, thanks. :)

There are always less bad choices... it's why people boycott anything.
Barefoot running I am told takes a lot of adjustment for people who were already running heel-first. For me, a new runner, it isn't hard.

they hv vegan option ,  http://lunasandals.com/sandals

Luna's with the hemp lacing is as simple as it gets!

personally i dont trust big comercial companies- vegan doenst say everything- although i agree with the thought behind it- thats why the green silence is my choice- although im aware the company maybe doin not everything veganfriendly- thats our choice to make.

Another way to be more eco is to buy second hand shoes off ebay that have only been worn a couple of times and are the model and size you like.

All shoes are made in China in often the same factories as others. If something is made in a factory be in Germany, Australia or Indonesia, your going to have working conditions that are shocking. Its the nature of business. You have stress, cant eat when you want, cant rest when you want, cant have days off when you want etc. Cant even go to the toilet when you want. Whats the difference between a factory worker in Thailand that cant have a wee break when ever they care for and the surgeon in France that can't either.

I remember back in 1999 getting my personal trainer qualifications and the teacher initially was giving me grief for 'going to the toilet constantly' I said 'its not my problem if everyone else is dehydrated. hey, Im the only person here that rides to school and I travel the furthest as well, I do what I want to stay healthy and hydrated so your just gonna have to get used to that...'. After that other students started drinking more and we changed the whole mentality of the class room.

huarache all the way!!

This is great information thanks for posting.

Take Care,
