A friend's vegan son is soon to visit her for the holidays, and despite her substantial kitchen skills, she was concerned about being able to prepare food to his liking. I mentioned having a book with recipe possibilities for her perusal, and soon loaned her Alicia Silverstone's "The Kind Diet."
A day or two later, she brought up the subject again, mentioning that between the book and her son, she was learning some brand new concepts: such as it requiring over 400 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef, and the health ramifications of consuming meat.
She noted that now she could understand why people would choose to go vegan.
Even if that's as far as it goes, that's a seed well planted. But she still has the book, and seems eager to keep reading :)
Y'all are welcome to share your own success tales, no matter how mini or in-progress they might be.
