Anyone following this stuff?
Most interesting is TellSpec. In their own words, it's:
"A revolutionary hand-held device that tells you the allergens, chemicals, nutrients, calories, and ingredients in your food." website
The Scanadu Scout:
This small consumer device is pressed up against the forehead, and in 10 seconds it reads a persons' vital signs. Heart rate, Blood Pressure, Temperature.. website
The Healbe GoBe:
Wearable wristband, automatically tracks your bodies Calorie Intake, Calories Burned, Heart Rate monitor, Stress Level ( ? ), Hydration Level (sounds awesome), and Sleep Status.
After looking over the site, I read that this thing has about a 15% - 20% allowance in accuracy when measuring calories, in comparison to what the label will read on the package. But, this could easily be because of different absorption rate in people, or cooking/preparing differences, etc etc..
Still really cool right?
And a new documentary.. Cowspiracy
"COWSPIRACY: The Sustainability Secret, is a groundbreaking feature length environmental documentary, following an intrepid filmmaker as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today and investigates why the world's leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it." website
I guess it's going to be a film about how the animal industry destroys the world.. I'm hoping it will spread the vegan message and not somehow be a film endorsing finding a more sustainable way to kill the animals... sucks that I have to assume that but, lol, we'll see.
Anyone interested in buying this stuff? I know I am! : )
All of them are crowdfunded, isn't that fun!
I'd love to have the TellSpec thing for a number of experiments... can't wait to see if it turns out to be awesome, or bunk!
