I tried eating mostly raw for 5months eating 4000 calories a day. i got tired of eating fruits so out of curiousity i did all starches for 2 months eating 6000 calories and i lost 10lbs. i am now 135lbs 5'9. I know that raw fruits are the best food and most optimal but im confused to why I lost weight. Is it because i ate no overt fat and starches like rice and potatos are so low in fat? Ive been thinking maybe my body is using more energy trying to break down complex carbs into simple sugars.............idk
ur right i dont know but ive been doing mostly raw for a year. Coming from slightly overweight backround eating junk food all day i switched to mostly raw and lost 20 lbs in 3 months and my weight stabilized for 7 months. i lost the 10lbs when i stopped eating overts and ate all starches so i basically when from 80 10 10 to 90 5 5
How are you tracking in that you're consuming 6k calories? By dry weight of the rice?
You may need to act on your situation there soon if the majority of those calories are coming from rice.. the vitamin and mineral content, and their ratios, are not very well suited for the human physiology.
Sure, you might lose weight eating both ways, but losing weight is NOT an indicator of health, which a lot of people seem to associate the two together as the same exact thing in all scenarios.
i never said its healthy to eat all starches and its prolly not. I wasnt trying to lose weight i was just curious to see what will happen. My digestion felt kinda crappy so im going back to mostly raw adding more fats. i log my food on cronometer and i didnt have any trouble eating 6k calories because starches have lot less volume per calorie
