I have been vegan for quite some time and lately I've wanted to eat HCRV. My family is very unhealthy and I have no one who is vegetarian or anyone to talk to. I am still in school and live with my mom and siblings in a fairly small apartment. Sadly, no farmers markets or health food stores are close to me, though there are some fruit stands that I frequently visit.
Money is fairly tight and I know that eating more starches is cheaper but I really wanna go raw, or at least RT4. Does anyone have any tips for me? Meal ideas or something? Anything would be helpful! Thanks.
Ah, I see. Thanks! I will simply try to incorporate more raw foods in my diet rather than going fully raw.
You might rent 'Forks Over Knives' from the library and have a movie night with the family to get them all on board or at least moving that way. This film turns hard core corpse eaters vegan instantly!
As for raw foods, bananas are the closest to the perfect food for humans. They are all you need to go rawtil4. Bananas with lettuce provide 100% plus of all the minerals and vitamins we need. Buy them at 29 cents a pound at many discount groceries and even cheaper if you can find them ripe with spots. You can also find your local wholesaler and buy them by the case. Definitely learn to grow your own lettuce and tomatoes at home. Remineralize the soil you use. Start with hay and fine mulch and rock dust (ground granite). It will break down quickly enough and stuff will grow pretty well in it right away.
Do your best!
My perspectives is that at every opportunity you eat as raw as possible and not feel guilty for eating non-raw if that is all that is available to you.
You can suggest to your mom to buy more raw foods. You may perhaps make a deal to do more chores, or you can buy the food yourself by becoming creative in ways, this is up to you.
Personally, I feel being a raw vegan is cheaper. I do not buy milk, meats, eggs, cheese, packaged food and so on which all add up. I literally just buy veggies and fruit and those are relatively cheap in comparison. Dates is the only expensive thing I buy.
