30 Bananas a Day!

Hey folks

I got my blood results back a little while ago. I go religiously - every 6 months or so and have been doing so for a decade.

My results go as follows: 16/02/11 triglyceride = 0.6 (they need to be <1.5 apparently). 28/09/11 = 0.7. Then I started HCV (not entirely raw, I have been eating steamed rice and steamed sweet potatoes some days. I drink 3-4 litres of water per day, and get 2700-3000 calories a day). Anyway, on the 09/02/2012 triglycerides came back as 1.2. So, within about three or so months of eating this way, the tri's have spiked 42%.  I'm not freaking out or anything, I just wanted to ask what the reason was behind it.

I read somewhere that there is a direct link between high tri's and low vit d levels. My vit D levels have been in the 80's (85, 83) and this time it came back as 72 (the 'normal' is >75). I see that as a minor drop in vit d for such a great jump in tri's but who am I to say?

Any feedback or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Don't know. Could also be refined sugars actually. good question.

This is interesting. Thanks, Dutchie. My HDL and LDL ratio has DEFINITELY improved. My LDL is significantly lower - the best it's EVER been!!! And the blood test was taken ONLY after three months of eating this way. I couldn't believe it. I wanna get a couple more blood tests done and then hopefully make some sort of short clip about it. It's very interesting.

This is quite interesting - I will have mine tested this summer.

Don't forget DR does not own a car - he likely moves more in a day without "exercise" just looking for fruit than most people I know.

If you have starch in the middle of the day... vs at night - I think this may contribute to the problem (the steady feed of sugar from the starch is plenty - then the fruit hits.... POW).   McDougall see's this all the time.

I also think working a bit before you eat each time can help with this... move move move.

Hopefully I am right.... will see what my #'s are this summer.   Last test 2 years ago they were 113 (no fast - 2 hours after 10 banana/salad lunch).

Interesting. Yes, I've definitely upped my moving. I wanna check it again in another few months.

Some people...their liver does not always metabolize food the way it should and Trig. and other things run a little high because of family history. In these people it would be out of sight on a high fat SAD.
