It's like 90 degrees and humid here. It's been that way for days. I have zero desire to eat anything for most of the day. Before it gets totally oppressive, in the mornings I can get down a watermelon...aside from that it's just been water for days. Is this okay? Should I be forcing food? I tried...it doesn't taste good to me.
I should also mention that I'm coming off of a strep throat like illness...so for 3 days I physically couldn't eat anything at all and basically just slept...did my stomach shrink down in that amount of time.
I'm not that worried...I'm more curious. Is it going to totally screw with my body if I lay off the food until the heat breaks?
Wow. You're right. It's a miracle I'm here! (I'd put a little winky face here if they didn't totally creep me out).
I should clarify that I am aware that if I ceased to eat I would die (just like my starving/ditsy ancestors). I was pretty much just sharing my experience and wondering if it is a common experience. Curiosity. I do plan to eat again.
Also, the past 2 days (since I'm feeling better) I have been active. In the morning before the sun gets high I run 4 miles and after that I've been doing yard work (yesterday I mowed the lawn with one of those push reel mowers...over an acre that's a workout). My energy is fine...my mood is fine...my sense of humor is intact...I've just lost my appetite. Wondering if it's common. Wondering why.
I was hypothesizing that maybe my body is shutting down the hunger signals because it doesn't want to produce the heat associated with metabolizing food. I thought it was a cool hypothesis...
However, I will get right on eating some more food! Thank you Thomas (I do think that you're right)!
